TRAINING

Christopher J. Stippich
President

Mr. Stippich has been extensively involved in the field of computer forensics since graduating Lawrence University in 1990. He was instrumental in developing the forensic capability of the Wisconsin State Crime Laboratory, one of the first crime laboratories in the nation to create a computer forensics discipline. Involved from inception to adjudication, Mr. Stippich has forensically analyzed, processed and testified as an expert witness on a wide variety of computer cases including homicide, drugs, gambling, theft, pedophilia, child pornography, embezzlement, destruction of data, and medical assistance fraud.

Chris has developed and provided training for international, federal, state and local law enforcement officers in the basics of seizure, investigation, analysis and prosecution of high technology crimes. He has also presented training for NATO, Polish National Police, High Technology Crime Investigators Association, Forensic Association of Computer Technologists (FACT), the Federal Computer Investigations Committee, the Northeast Healthcare Law Enforcement Association and the Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation's White Collar Crime School.

Raemarie J. Schmidt
Vice President

Since graduating from UW-Milwaukee in 1973, Raemarie Schmidt has been committed to developing the field of forensic science. She was most recently an instructor and the Supervisor of Curriculum Development for the NW3C's Computer Crime Section, developing and providing computer forensics training to law enforcement.

Raemarie has over 21 years of forensic laboratory experience in the WI and VA Crime Laboratory systems. In 1992 she chaired the WI Department of Justice working group developing seizure and processing protocols for WI and establishing computer forensics as a laboratory-based discipline. She's participated in numerous search warrants involving computer evidence recovery and examination. She completed the IACIS DOS Processing Certification and has developed and presented training in the forensic analysis of computer evidence for all levels of law enforcement, including FACT, the WI Department of Justice, MAFS, WI State Prosecutors, the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, the Air Force Office of Special Investigations, NATO, the Polish National Police, the Federal Computer Investigation Committee, US Fish and Wildlife Service, the Postal Inspection Service, the FBI and others.

Charles Giglia
Chief Curriculum Developer

Charles Giglia has been in the field of computer forensics since 2000 and serves as the instructor for the FIRE course. He has an undergraduate degree in mathematics from Canisius College and a graduate degree in forensic science from the University of New Haven. Charles spent nearly six years as Computer Crime Specialist with the NW3C while leading the development of numerous training classes. His primary concentrations were courses related to Internet investigations and Internet forensics.

Charles has been a guest presenter at the FBI training academy, as well as several IACIS, FACT, RCFG/GMU, HTCIA international/regional conferences and an adjunct professor at Fairmont State College. He is a Certified Forensic Computer Examiner (CFCE) and a Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE).

HARDWARE / SOFTWARE DESIGN / NETWORK ENGINEERING

Edward C. Van Every
Chief Executive Officer

Since his graduation from the United States Merchant Marine Academy in 1982, Mr Van Every has been serving the industry as a Systems Software Engineer, Network Administrator, and Computer Crime Specialist. He has provided support in this capacity to several government agencies including the U.S. Navy, Miltary Sealift Command, U.S. Department of Energy, and U.S. Department of Transportation.

Ed has an extensive background in the design and development of systems software and network applications as well as 17 years of experience in the administration of systems and networks. He is both an MCSE and a CNE.

Ed has developed and provided training and assistance to local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies as a Computer Crime Specialist with a federally funded, non-profit, training and research organization. He has provided advanced computer forensics training for a variety of law enforcement agencies including NATO affiliated military intelligence organizations and the Polish National Police.

FORENSICS

Douglas G. Elrick
Director of Forensic Services

Doug Elrick has worked for 13 years as a forensic scientist for the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation prior to joining Digital Intelligence. Doug started the computer forensic unit for the laboratory in 1992 and was the only individual processing computer evidence for the state. He processed over 100 cases per year at the laboratory in addition to running his personal forensic consulting business. Doug has been courtroom-qualified in federal, state and local cases in both criminal and civil proceedings.

Mr. Elrick has been involved in computer forensic training since 1995. He has conducted presentations in basic computer evidence collection and processing for the Iowa Department of Public Safety, IACIS, FACT, Malaysian National Police and the Japanese National Police. He has also presented at the American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors meeting, FBI National Academy retainer, and the US Department of Justice Science and the Law Conference. Doug has served on the IACIS board for 8 years and the FACT board for 12 years.
